Our Goal

The TOMAS project is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme (Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training).

The project aims to promote social inclusion and intercultural integration in the agrifood sector through awareness-raising and professional upskilling of agrifood workers of different nationalities on EU common values and intercultural work competencies.

Our Objectives

Cooperation Framework

Fostering a transational and cross-sectoral cooperation framework among VET, youth associations, trade unions, and other agro-food sector’s stakersholder to build bridges among social, educational/vocational, and economic partners.

Better Understanding of the Agro-Food Sector Needs

Promoting a better understanding of intercultural and inter-community-related needs in the agro-food sector so that vocational training can be better tailored to the needs of agri-food workers of different nationalities and of the labor market, thus contributing to an increase of intercultural competencies and social inclusion in the sector.

Educational Resources

Developing innovative educational resources that combine key approaches from non-formal and formal education and vocational training in order to train agri-food workers of different nationalities towards increased intercultural skills and greater awareness of the EU values.

TOMAS 2.0 aims to promote social inclusion in the agrifood sector by enhancing migrants' employability and supporting their socio-professional integration.

Our Objectives

Through an innovative e-learning VET course and its large-scale delivery online and across seven countries, TOMAS 2.0 seeks to empower migrants with knowledge of the EU labour market, their rights and the European hosting culture.

Strengthen Migrants' Employability

Empower migrants working in or entering the agrifood sector with knowledge and competences that support their employability and long-term socio-professional integration.

Provide migrants with practical knowledge of the EU labour market, their rights and the European hosting culture, helping them participate more confidently in professional and social life.

Deliver Accessible and Innovative VET Training

Deliver an innovative e-learning VET course online and across seven countries, creating more accessible training opportunities for migrants and learners who may be at greater risk of exclusion.

An Optimized and Accessible E-learning Course

The digital and visual optimization of an e-learning course dedicated to migrant workers in the agrifood sector will respond to the target groups' and VET providers' need to foster accessible and innovative opportunities for marginalized groups of learners.

Large-scale Training Delivery Across Seven Countries

The massive deployment of the training in seven different countries will allow the project to reach a very high number of migrants, including those at greater risk of exclusion and those who do not possess sufficient digital skills to follow the course independently online.
